The Administration is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the development of the State’s plans and strategies relative to cash management, investments and bond financing.
The Department of Budget and Finance is mandated by Section 26-8, Hawai`i Revised Statutes to:
- Undertake the preparation and implementation of the Executive budget of the State government;
- Conduct reviews of finances, organization, and operations of each department of the State to ensure appropriate and effective expenditure of public funds;
- Maintain custody of State funds and be responsible for safekeeping, management, investment and disbursement thereof; and
- Administer state debts.
